Finding Self – 2

Emotions are for real.

Yes, and overreacting isn’t a thing.

Each one of us as an individual, have a right to express as much or as little as we desire at any moment of time. As long as, that is true to our core.

Knowing and understanding our true core is not easy. Especially, as we are always submerged in this chaos of beliefs, rights, and wrongs that are set as standards without any care for our own nature.

Our society today is like a circus, where a variety of animals (all humans though) are tied up in their own individual cages while served the same meal, taught the same tricks, and expected to act accordingly without any complaint. Lion, tigers, deers, elephants, hippos, birds, and even clowns are given the same meal every day and are expected to do the exact same trick. While jumping from branches to branches are perfectly ok for birds, can be torture for the hippo. While a lion can enjoy the blood dripping meal of an antelopes ribcage, it can not feed a deer. The deers go hungry for days while lions roar but can only roar and rage tied in their cages. The dreams of hunting and reigning the jungle remains a dream unseen. The ducks stare at their feet longingly, constantly wondering why they are built a certain way and why they feel that they might be able to float if the cold floors inside their cage may eventually melt fluid.

But then, they all look very neatly organized as they sit in the same side of boxes built meticulously inside this zoo. Nobody knows, who and when decided the parameters of the cages.Nobody challenges, why it feels claustrophobic for some while others are constantly lost trying to locate themselves. they just poke their heads now and then and greet each other when they can manage too. Other times, they just bury their faces in farthest corners of these cages and scream those pain out, ensuring those stay unheard.

One after another, the animals die. They call it a natural death, aging or whatever.

They quietly mourn, say nice things about the passed soul. Though, nobody dares to mention the end of a life that was never lived.

A peacock, who never got to dance when in rain. A Lion, that never hunted and roared to his true strength. A deer, who never galloped across acres of open meadows. A hippo, who never got to soak in the muddy waters. A veery, who never got to migrate across the vast ocean every season.
