Win Some and Lose Some

Existence

Exist

Exit

Ex

Next

In order to win some you have to lose some.

Isn’t that how it goes ?

Isn’t that, what we have been told ?

We commonly hear that you cannot have your cake and eat it too and naturally, being Human we expect the another way. We do want to have our cake and eat it too and mostly as we are done eating, we stay nostalgic about how beautiful the cake was. The thought  lingers for a long time and it is interesting how that nostalgia creates desire for more cake ….and the cycle continues. The cycle of desire where wanting and having and wanting it again becomes routine.

It doesn’t even occur to us that we are now trapped.

But let’s step back and take a look at it again from another perspective.

In this whole cycle, what did we win or lose?

What did we achieve or let go?

We succumbed to our desire of wanting and we worked tirelessly to satisfy the desire. Satisfying that desire provided some temporary the sense of comfort and a sense of existence. Every time the need of fulfilling that desire was met, we came home to our comfort and felt connected to known feeling ….ah! Thats me and now I exist. It is same me which existed a day, a month or a week ago when I was having the cake and enjoying it and I’m doing it today as well…Deja Vu. So I exist. An Affirmation.

So what is wrong in this picture?

Apparently, nothing .

I am in the cycle of enjoying something over and over which I can relate with. Until …until…I start to look around, walk over the fence and realize well, there were other things served at the table too.

Cake was just the desert and maybe it is time that we explore ourselves a little deeper , walk a little farther. It is time we drop the cake.

It is not comfortable but that’s the moment we must exit. Yes, We exit the cake and with it the nostalgia too. It is time for next, It is time when the cake becomes an ex and we go deeper and we live with everything else that life has to offer.

Thats how we win at living, there isnt much to lose really.

Cheers!
